Makin’ It Monday: Pasta Salad
ALEXANDRIA, VA – This is always a summer favorite but can be served all year round. There is no specific recipe for this but here is what we typically use when we make Pasta Salad.
Ingredients:
- 1lb Pasta (your choice in style/cut)
- 1/2 Pepper
- 1 Cup of chopped meat (ham, pepperoni, turkey, chicken)
- 1/2 Cup Oil Based Salad Dressing
- 1/2 Cup Cream Based Salad Dressing
- 2 Carrots Finely Chopped
- 1/4 Cup corn
- 3 Celery Stocks, Halved and Chopped
Step 1: Fill a Dutch over 1/2 way with water. Place on stove on medium heat to boil.
Step 2: Cut the carrots into large chunks and then finely chop carrots in a food chopper.
Step 3: Cut celery in halve and then finely chop.
Step 4: Chunk meat of choice into small pieces.
Step 5: Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and let sit until pasta is ready.
Step 6: Once water has come to a light boil, place pasta in the dutch oven and cook until desired firmness has been reached.
Step 7: Strain the pasta and slowly blend into the bowl with the other ingredients.
Step 8: Let cool before placing into the refrigerator to prevent bacteria form forming.
Step 9: Serve cool!
