Frugal Savings: Week of June 15, 2015

ALEXANDRIA, VA – This week there were pretty nice scores when we did our grocery run. At Harris Teeter, there had a few of their “Buy 2 and get 3 Free” specials going on and other things we got were BoGo. We bought 10 boxes of pasta for $5, 10- 8oz bags of cheese for $10.36, 4 boxes of cake mix for $4, 10 boxes of hamburger helper for $9 and 1 1/2 gallon of milk for $1.57.  Overall, not a bad savings we netted a 45% savings at Harris Teeter but you can also look at it as we got over 30 lbs of food for around $30 which is not bad at all.

The best deal though was when we scored at the local Ethnic Market, Global Food. When we were walking back from going to the ATM, we browsed the sale flyer they post outside their store. We were able to get 2 4lb bags of raw, shelled peanuts for $8.  At any other store, these would easily be $2 a pound so this was by far one of our best scores of the week!
