Frugal Savings Week of July 15, 2015

CHANTILLY, VA – Alright, this post is for those gear heads that are out there. This week was a major win for my car. Initially when I took it in for inspection, 2 weeks ago, it did not pass due to wearing rear calipers. Instead of having the shop use their parts at $400 per caliper installed, I was able to get both rear calipers installed for a total of $550. That alone is a $250 savings without the core charge refunded back to me which is an additional $75!

There is one thing you need to know, can you ship your own parts to your shop. That is one of the better advantages to some shops and something you may consider when your car needs serviced. This way you can even be frugal with your auto repairs. One site I go to offer discounts and deals all the time on various things for your car.

When we did our grocery run, we had a few hits as far as savings is concern. Safeway was running the deal that if you bought 4 boxes of General Mills cereal, they would give you a gallon of milk. on top of the free milk, they also had the cereal on sale. After all was said and done, we walked away with saving 39%!

Overall, not a bad week for savings but some lessons were also learned! On an added side note, we have officially  branded our car! Be Well and NEVER Pay Retail!
